UNTH and SONUNTH Stop over
My mission trip started with a presentation at the School of Nursing University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, where the training I received has provided the skills, knowledge and education that prepared me to be a great help to every patient that I have cared for both in the hospital setting and in the mission fields. This program was organized by the Alumni association of School of Nursing UNTH, in USA, and was held from January 7 to 9. It was very fulfilling to be able to give back to this noble institution.
My presentation was on “New Trends in Sickle Cell Disease Management” There were five other presenters on other topics who came from the USA with the president of SONUNTH Alumni Association, Dr. Pat Ukaiwe. There were hundreds of student nurses as well as nursing staff. The head of Nursing Services was also present.
The presentation was climaxed with a visit to the office of the CMAC Dr. Obinna Onodugo.
We appreciate Prof. Vincent Onodugo, his wife and the entire family who made our stay in Enugu very comfortable. Dr. (Mrs. Chineye Onodugo was incredibly helpful with the purchase of the medications used in the clinic.
