Medical Missions Nigeria

A Nine Days Medical outreach held in Amankanu – January 14th to 22nd. Amakanu Clinic Reopened.

And Jesus Christ went around the cities and villages … healing all that were oppressed for God was with Him.

Amankanu people are living in an interior part of Enugu state, bordered by Ebonyi state of Nigeria. A lot of villages both in Enugu and Ebonyi  States of Nigeria are living within this area without the gospel and no access to social amenities.

The medical outreach was held from the 14th through 22nd January 2019. It afforded over 75 women, 86 children and 48 men medical attention. Sister Meg personally diagnosed these patients. MFC provided the patients with drugs.

The Amakanu people have been known to be unable to afford medical bills. Besides the nearest clinic is 40 kilometers away. More often than not sick family members are left to die gradually. The new clinic commissioned by board of  MFC is a great succor for the indigenes.

During the program, aside the care given in the new clinic,  a good number of serious cases were ferried to the city for more extensive treatments.

The medical outreach has further established the footing of the gospel of Christ in Amankanu and has brought joy to many families.

Sister Meg Nwoji led the other team of medical personnel to successfully carry out the project.  The clinic is now in operation and is expected to become more effective.  Attracting and keeping medical staff in this rural area is a major challenge for the new clinic. This is majorly due to cost and the hinterland nature of Amankanu. More medical equipment and supplies will further strengthen the clinic’s capacity.
