Our Cambodia field was started by Pastor Nnamdi and Miriam Ikpe, who have since moved on from MFCM. We are in the process of sending a new missionary to develop the field further. The pioneering work covered:
1) Adong Village Outreach. A great opportunity for ministry: The Lord opened a great door of ministry for us in Andong village among a community of relocated families. Andong village which is among the largest slum communities in Cambodia is approximately 5 miles from Phnom Penh International airport on the outskirts of the city. After visiting the village, we began an outreach to this poor community. Every Sunday morning, we went there to teach the Bible as we prayed and trusted the Lord to guide us walk with Him in His work of transformation within this needy community.
2) Discipleship. We thank the Lord for our translator who showed great zeal for reaching his fellow Cambodians with the gospel. He not only worked with us as a translator, but we are also discipled him with the hope that together we would reach other places with the gospel. From the many children, young people and others that we ministered to, the Lord granted us the privilege of closer relationship with one student in PMI whom we started to disciple more actively and intentionally.
3) Outreach Center. One year after arriving Cambodia, we moved to a new house. It proved to be a better place for our outreach center. Apart from being more strategically located within our community, it was also more spacious. The Lord made provisions for furnishing the place.
Currently we a training new missionaries, one of whom will be sent to revitalise the work in Cambodia after the exit of the pioneers.
